SOUTHAMPTON ARTS CENTER
On October 1, 2022 A CELEBRATION OF TREES opened at the Southampton Arts Center on the East End of Long Island, New York. The exhibition highlighted the works of 77 artists from around the globe, whose unique stories to trees inspire us all to look more closely at our relationship with the tree world. Artwork mediums included painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, film, poetry, and more. Partnering with the non-profit Archangel Ancient Tree Archive, whose mission is to create living libraries of old-growth trees for the purpose of functional reforestation and works with some of the planet’s oldest and largest trees, both in North America and Europe, the exhibition included an impressive programming calendar, including local tree tours, artist-led workshops, conservation talks, and more.
